What is an Icebreaker?
An icebreaker is an activity, game or event that is used to welcome or warm up the conversation among the participants in a meeting, training class, team building session or any other event. any event that requires people to comfortably interact with each other. And a facilitator is an opportunity to use an icebreaker. A facilitator is a person who adds value to a classroom planning session by keeping the group on task and moving in the same direction. An effective icebreaker will warm up the conversation in your classroom session, reinforce the topic of the session, and ensure that the students enjoy their interaction and the session.
Types of icebreakers :
Mainly there are three types of icebreakers. The first type of icebreaker is just for fun. When participants know each other laughter and conversation are generated by the icebreaker to warm up the session. When the participants are strangers the ice is broken and the participants learn something about each other. This ensures that introductions and initial conversations occur, these are the key to make sure the participants enjoy and find the value in the session.
The second type of icebreaker introduces the uninterrupted movement from introduction towards our main topic, part of a story or subject. It might also generate laughter or conversation, but the main purpose is to open up the topic of the session.
The third type of icebreaker is an activity based on the purpose of the classroom session. since this is an immediate activity everyone in the classroom can participate in it serves its own icebreaker.
